Sheldon R. S. Crocker

Sheldon was born with a physical disability called Arthrogryposis, which causes a lack of muscular development, contraction at most joints, and designed unable to crawl. When he was young, doctors thought he would never walk on his own. He had braces on his legs, and a bar between his feet connecting both shoes, until he was about five years old. Sheldon learned to walk by placing his back against the wall, sliding along. The only way he could get downstairs was to sit on his bum, and bop his way down the steps. Crocker's unique and unforgettable humor infuses his powerful talks, inspiring his audience to pursue their dreams. Several national news programs and networks have featured him, including Global News.

The MerB'y Documentary and Calendar also included him, making history for the first person with a disability to appear in such a publication. In Dale Carnegie's training, he won the Human Relations Award. He is a chorister in Stella's Circle Inclusion Choir for the past seven years. Currently serving as Vice President of Education for Iceberg Alley Online Toastmasters, he has spoken at the annual general meetings of various social justice organizations. He is passionate about his message, compassionate and empathetic with other people and humble with personal lived experiences of actually dealing with the issues he talks about. Among his best achievements, he has published a book titled “KEEP on WALKING - A Transformative & Inspirational Journey.” He says his disability is not a barrier.

B.D. Storey

Bob grew up in a pretty typical Southern household. An Army brat, he was born in Germany and spent his formative years moving around the country from post to post, never going to the same school twice until his fathers retirement.

A typical teenager of the 70’s, he spent hours playing baseball, tennis, band, and dumping hard earned quarters into his favorite arcade games.

He retired from the Air Force in 2000 and began working in the technology department of a local sheriff’s office, where he will soon retire.

A lover of both PC and console games, Bob has spent many hours immersed in the lands of role playing and make-believe with friends and family. This is where his love of writing took off as he and his online friends spent hours writing epic tales of fantasy, love, and adventuring. Oh, and dragon slaying. One can’t forget that.

He is married to his best friend and love of his life, Pam. They live on their small ranch/farm in Clarksville where Pam keeps him busy with the multitude of chores that come with having three horses and four cats. He has three great kids who are the lights of their life.

Some of his favorite romance authors are Nicholas Sparks, Abby Jimenez, Claire Kingsley, and Maria Luis.

Melissa F. Miller

I’m the USA Today bestselling author of more than forty mystery, thriller, and suspense novels and a half-dozen or so novellas that have been read by more than three million readers worldwide. My books all share two common threads: pulse-pounding, tightly plotted action and smart, unlikely protagonists.

I write crime fiction for optimists—fast-paced, twisty books for readers who believe light drives out darkness, love is brave, and kind is strong. My goal is to write thoughtfully about serious (and sometimes dark) issues and themes without descending into grim pessimism, gratuitous violence, or pain. I also believe there's power in laughter, so I like to sprinkle lighter moments into even my most serious books.

I write to empower you. I want you to feel hopeful, optimistic, smart, and capable when you read one of my books.

And I write to geek out. I love to do deep dives into subjects as diverse as agricultural espionage, cyberbullying, basket-weaving, and everything in between when I’m researching a book. And I delight in sprinkling little nuggets of knowledge throughout my books to share them with you.

Finally, I write to connect. Writing is a solitary pursuit, but sharing my writing with readers creates a connection that stretches around the globe.

I live in Pennsylvania with my husband, two sons, one daughter, a cat named Java, and a beagle-basset mix named Chase.

Carter Fielding is a millennial with an old soul. She likes old maps, old photographs, vintage records, and vintage champagnes. A Southerner, with roots in Anderson, S.C., she also likes a good mellow bourbon, a day that calls for wearing a barn jacket and wellies, and the smell of wet earth after a good rain. Above all, she likes a good mystery, one that has her scratching her head half-way through trying to figure out who did it, one that takes her to places she has never been before, one that lets her discover more than just dead bodies--without having to kennel the dog.
