You've Been Living Beside the Answer Longer Than You Think

I watch a woman's future change in the space of a single sentence...it's normal in my world. The stories of these life-altering sentences make up the whole of what is possible for everyone, including you.

An editor came to me.  Successful. Talented. She'd built a good life doing work she genuinely enjoyed, so there was no obvious reason to question the path she was on.  As we talked, though, God kept bringing me back to the same picture. I finally looked at her and said, "I don't think you're meant to edit books anymore. I think you're meant to build a publishing house."  She didn't argue with me (of the wisdom coming through me). She just sat there for a moment and then laughed.  "I've never said that out loud before."  That was the sentence I couldn't stop thinking about after she left.  Ya see, she HAD thought about it.  In clips. During moments she wasn't editing her own thoughts.  It's that she'd never said it fully to herself (let alone out loud).

I believe that some of the biggest dreams in our lives aren't hidden from us. They're hidden beneath everything we've learned to carry. Responsibility has a way of doing that. So do expectations. Success can too. We become so busy managing the life we've already built that we stop paying attention to the life quietly trying to emerge.  The women who find me are rarely looking for another opinion. By the time they book a Reveal, they've usually read the books, hired the mentors, prayed, journaled, and turned the decision over from every possible angle. They're thoughtful women. Disciplined women. Women who have spent months, and sometimes years, trying to be faithful with what's in front of them.

Then they arrive, and something shifts.

People ask me what I do all the time, and every answer feels incomplete. Business strategist isn't wrong. Advisor isn't wrong either. They just don't quite reach the heart of it.  God allows me to see what a woman has become too close to recognize for herself....the business she's really meant to build, the elevated offer...her dream she's been talking herself out of.  My role is surprisingly simple.  I  say out loud what God has been whispering to her all along.  The look on her face is almost always the same...relief.

It's the relief that comes when someone finally gives language to something you've known in your spirit for a very long time.  That editor went on to build a publishing house. Within two years, she had more than thirty published authors, many of them reaching Amazon's number one list.  People hear that part of the story and assume that's why I remember her.  Nopers  I remember her because of the moment she laughed and realized the dream hadn't appeared out of nowhere.  God had been growing it inside her long before she found the courage to say it out loud.

I've started wondering how many of us spend years asking God for an answer when He's patiently waiting for us to recognize the one He's already been showing us.

Maybe that's why the thoughts that keep returning deserve our attention.

Maybe that's why the dream that won't leave us alone matters.

Maybe the life God is inviting us into doesn't begin the day He finally speaks.

Maybe it begins the day we finally trust what He's been saying all along.

That being said, I know that God isn't trying to keep His will hidden from us.

He's patient.

He teaches.

He prepares.

He shapes us until we're ready to recognize what He's been revealing over time.

I've watched women leave a Reveal with a new business, a new offer, or a new direction.  What they actually leave with is something much more valuable.  Trusting God a little more than they did when they walked in.

Because once you've experienced what it's like to recognize His voice in one area of your life, you begin to trust Him in the next.  And then the next.  That's why I love this work.  I get to help women build remarkable businesses, and watch a woman remember who God created her to be and faithfully steward what He's entrusted to her.

Everything else grows from there.
