Hi there! I'm Maisie, an entrepreneur from a small town in Idaho, pharmacist, and voice actor. I’m passionate about helping people from all walks of life and connecting with others to help make this world a better place. I aim to empower individuals by bridging the knowledge gap in technology. With a diverse background in mentoring trainees in the medical field and teaching computer basics, I strive to make a positive impact by providing accessible and effective online education. I created an online course teaching computer basics, and I am a professional voice actor, offering my talents for commercials, e-learning, tutorials, explainers, narration, meditations, and more.
What kind of work do you do?
I wear multiple hats in my professional life. I run an online computer basics course designed to help individuals navigate the digital world with ease. Specifically, I help others gain three essential computer skills to make them more efficient, organized, and confident on the computer. At the end of the course, they know how to organize their files, use platforms like Zoom, and how to utilize spreadsheets and presentation slides with ease and more confidently. I'm committed to fostering supportive learning environments and helping individuals build the skills and confidence needed to thrive in today's digital world.
Additionally, I am a voice actor, providing voice overs for businesses, e-learning platforms, tutorials, explainers, podcasts, video narration, meditations, and more.
What inspired you to get started as an entrepreneur?
My entrepreneurial journey was inspired by a combination of my passion for helping others and my desire to touch people’s lives in a unique way. I wanted others to have access to high-quality education in computer basics and for them to know they are not alone in this journey. I also enjoy bringing unique stories and messages to life through voice over. I felt motivated to create computer resources after observing how many have struggled with basic computer skills. Seeing the positive impact that my computer course and voice over services have on individuals and businesses continue to motivate me to expand my reach and help even more people.
What was your biggest struggle to get things going for your online business?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was building an online presence from scratch. It required a lot of time and effort to develop my course content that would benefit others, and making individuals aware of these resources and services being available. It was also a challenge to market my offerings effectively.
Was there a time you thought about giving up? What kept you from quitting?
Yes, there were moments when the obstacles seemed overwhelming. However, my passion for helping others and the positive feedback from my students kept me going. Knowing that my work was making a real difference in people's lives provided the motivation I needed to push through the tough times. I remind myself why I started this in the first place and the commitment I made to making a positive difference.
What have you learned since beginning?
I've learned that perseverance, mindset, and adaptability are keys to success. The online landscape is constantly evolving, and being able to pivot and adjust to new challenges is crucial. Listening to feedback, being open, and building relationships have played a significant part in this process. I've also discovered the importance of building a supportive community and valuing each learner's unique journey.
What’s the best advice you’ve received?
Stay true to who you are and you’ll attract the right people that align with you. It's easy to get sidetracked by trends or external pressures, but maintaining a clear focus on why you started and who you're trying to help will guide you through the journey with supportive people.
What advice would you give someone just starting out?
Be resourceful and imperfect. Take small steps and learn from others who have been where you want to be. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and ask for help. Understand who you want to help every day. Building a business takes time and it will always improve over time, so just get started.
What’s the professional win you’re most proud of?
I'm most proud of the positive feedback I've received from my students on my online computer course. Knowing that my course has helped individuals gain confidence and improve their digital literacy is incredibly rewarding. It's a testament to the impact of the course. I am also proud of my voice over projects for businesses, seeing the successful projects come to life.

Do you have a routine that you attest to your success? If yes, what is it?
Being disciplined and organized each day by setting goals and priorities for the day has contributed to my success. Blocking off realistic time frames for tasks and self-care have been helpful for focus and productivity.
How has social media played a factor in your success?
Social media has been helpful for building connections and reaching a broader audience. It's a powerful tool for sharing content, building a community, and receiving feedback. It allows me to connect with individuals who benefit from my course and voice over services.
What are the biggest social media mistakes you see commonly made?
One common mistake is buying followers of any type who aren’t aligned with the business and aren’t the target audience. Having a large number of followers who never connect with your content is about the same as having no followers. Quality over quantity matters.
What is the business tool that’s been most helpful?
Payment and invoicing tools, such as PayPal or Stripe, to allow options for people to purchase from me. Understanding how they work and getting them setup, though imperfectly at the start, was very helpful.
Is there something you wish everyone knew?
I wish everyone knew that there are valuable resources out there to help people in almost all aspects of life. We are not alone, and there is a supportive community out there waiting for us to show them what skills and services we have to offer. In today's fast-paced world, staying curious and open to new knowledge and skills is essential for personal and professional growth.
What’s coming up for you in the next few months?
In the next few months, I plan to expand my course offerings and introduce new modules to help learners further enhance their digital skills. I'm also working on potential workshops or webinars to provide more interactive learning opportunities. These topics may cover how to use other Google products.
I am also in the process of setting up a virtual chat assistant to help make the business run more efficiently around the clock.
What has being successful taught you?
Success has taught me to be kind to myself. The more I take care of myself, the more I can help others in the best possible light. It has shown me that making a positive impact on others' lives is the most fulfilling aspect of any endeavor.
What are some fun facts about you?
I grew up in a small town in Idaho and have always loved connecting with people. Aside from my professional work, I enjoy trying new foods and places to eat. I'm also a huge fan of anime shows, K-drama shows, and puns. I told my friend a pun about elevators, and it really lifted their spirits.
