Jennifer Perri is a Reinvention Strategist, Transformational Coach, speaker, six-time bestselling author, and host of the Next Level Women Podcast. As the Founder and CEO of SHERO Life & Empowerment Coaching, she supports women navigating divorce, loss, burnout, health challenges, and other major life transitions. Drawing from her own experiences, Jennifer helps women reclaim their confidence, rediscover their purpose, and intentionally create what comes next.
- What kind of work do you do?
I work with women who have reached a point where the life they are living no longer feels like the life they want. Sometimes that comes after divorce, loss, burnout, an empty nest, a health crisis, or a career change. Other times, nothing dramatic has happened, they simply know they are ready for more. Through coaching, speaking, writing, media, and community, I help women stop merely getting through life and begin intentionally building what comes next.
- What inspired you to get started as an entrepreneur?
My business grew out of my own reinvention.
I have had to rebuild my life more than once—after domestic abuse, divorce, single motherhood, professional changes, and an unexpected illness that left me temporarily paralyzed at 50. Learning to walk again changed the way I looked at everything. I realized that rebuilding is not simply about recovering what was lost. It is about deciding who you want to become because of what you have lived through. I knew other women needed that same reminder: your hardest chapter does not get to write your ending.
- What was your biggest struggle in getting your online business going?
My biggest struggle was learning how to translate deeply personal, transformational work into an online presence people could immediately understand.
Coaching is built on trust, and trust takes time. I had to become comfortable being visible, sharing my story, communicating my value, and allowing people to see the woman behind the credentials. Once I stopped trying to sound like everyone else and began speaking in my own voice, everything started to shift.
- Was there a time you thought about giving up? What kept you from quitting?
Absolutely. Entrepreneurship can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also feel lonely and uncertain. There were moments when growth felt slow, things did not work the way I expected, and I questioned whether I was making enough of a difference. What kept me going were the women. Every message from someone who felt seen by something I shared, every client who found her confidence again, and every woman who chose not to give up on herself reminded me why this work matters.
- What have you learned since beginning?
I have learned that success is rarely a straight line. Some of the opportunities I thought I needed were not meant for me, and some of my greatest breakthroughs came from unexpected directions.
I have also learned that your voice is one of your greatest business assets. People do not connect with perfection. They connect with truth, consistency, and the feeling that you genuinely understand them.
- What’s the best advice you’ve received?
Do not wait until you feel completely ready. Readiness is often something we create by taking the first step. Confidence usually comes after we begin, not before. That advice has stayed with me through every reinvention in my life and business.
- What advice would you give someone just starting out?
Start with the person you want to serve, not the product you want to sell. Understand what she is struggling with, what she wants, and how you can genuinely support her. Then begin before everything is polished. Your message will become clearer through action. Your confidence will grow through experience. You do not need the entire path mapped out—you only need enough courage to take the next step.
- What’s the professional win you’re most proud of?
I am proud of the recognitions, media features, bestselling books, and opportunities to speak and lead. But the win that means the most is building a worldwide community of more than two million people around a message I deeply believe in. Knowing that my story and work have encouraged women across different ages, backgrounds, and life experiences to believe they can begin again is something I never take for granted.
- Which books would you recommend to help entrepreneurs with success and personal development?
A few books I often recommend are:
- Atomic Habits by James Clear, because lasting success is built through small, consistent actions.
- Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, for anyone who needs the courage to create and share her ideas.
- The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest, for understanding self-sabotage and personal growth.
- Untamed by Glennon Doyle, for women learning to trust their own voices and stop living according to everyone else’s expectations.
- Do you have a routine that you attribute to your success? If yes, what is it?
I begin my day by creating a little quiet before the world starts asking things of me. I think about what matters most, what needs my attention, and how I want to show up that day.
I also protect time for creating, connecting, and thinking—not simply reacting. My routine is not always perfect, but I try to make sure my calendar reflects my priorities rather than allowing urgency to control every day.
- How has social media played a factor in your success?
Social media has allowed me to turn a deeply personal message into a worldwide conversation. It has helped me connect with women I may never have reached otherwise, build meaningful relationships, create media and speaking opportunities, and grow a community of more than two million people. But the real value is not the number of followers. It is the woman who reads a post at exactly the moment she needs it and realizes she is not alone.
- What are the biggest social media mistakes you commonly see?
One of the biggest mistakes is treating social media like a constant sales pitch. People want connection before conversion. They want to know who you are, what you believe, and whether they can trust you.
I also see people trying so hard to follow trends that they lose their own voice. Trends may create attention, but authenticity creates relationships. The goal is not to sound like everyone else—it is to become unmistakably yourself.
- What is the business tool that’s been most helpful?
Canva has been one of the most helpful tools for my online business. It allows me to bring my message and brand to life across social media, presentations, coaching resources, and digital content.
More importantly, it helps me communicate ideas visually and consistently without losing the human feeling behind the message.
- Is there something you wish everyone knew?
I wish every woman knew that she is not too old, too late, or too far behind to create a different future.
Reinvention is not about pretending the past did not happen or becoming someone completely different. It is about taking everything you have learned and becoming more of who you already are.
- What’s coming up for you in the next few months?
I am continuing to expand my coaching, speaking, media work, books, and strategic partnerships. I am also growing The Reinvention Report, my Next Level Women Podcast, and my communities for women who are ready to elevate their confidence, visibility, leadership, and success. Everything I am building is centered around one mission: helping more women believe they still have the power to choose what comes next.
- What has being successful taught you?
Success has taught me that achievement and fulfillment are not the same thing. You can have a full calendar, an impressive title, and visible accomplishments while still feeling disconnected from yourself.
Real success is building a life and business that reflect your values, creating an impact that matters, and having the freedom to define success on your own terms.
- What are some fun facts about you?
I love bold quotes, leopard print, good coffee, and meaningful conversations. I am happiest spending time with my husband, my family, and our dog, Thor—who is fully convinced he is in charge of everything.
I also believe laughter belongs in even the most serious seasons of life. Reinvention can be deep work, but it does not have to feel heavy every step of the way.
