What inspired you to get started as an author?
Fan fiction is what really got the ball rolling for me. Interesting enough, the series I wrote a few short pieces for was itself very short lived, and I bet most people won't remember it these days. But, writing these short scenes of a few hundred to maybe a couple thousand words eventually gave me the idea that what is a book if not just a collection of lots of these little scenes all strung together with a common narrative. And boom, I was off and running!
What are your favorite books to read?
I like the Expanse book series, anything by Elmore Leonard, Douglas Adams, Suzanne Collins, Veronica Roth

Fans of science fiction, in particular Star Wars, Star Trek, the Alien movie franchise, should really love my works. My Essence Wars series is heavily influenced by Star Wars in particular!
What’s the message you want to get out to people this Holiday Season?
We're in such a weird place right now. The past 2.5 years have been a shock, and I think we're just starting to comprehend the effects pandemic life has had and will have on us, above and beyond the threat of the virus. The holidays are a great time to reach out to the people in our lives for get-togethers and also to doublecheck on friends to make sure everyone is okay.
