Gen Edwards is a gifted energy healing facilitator with roots in Zimbabwe and a heart now settled in the Yorkshire Dales, UK. Drawing on a lifetime steeped in intuition, deep empathy, and ancient wisdom, she works remotely with clients around the world, helping them clear subconscious blocks and reconnect with their true essence.

Her healing blends modalities like The Emotion Code, The Body Code, Psych-K, Quantum Healing, and Healing Remembered. With warmth, clarity and an unwavering sense of presence, Gen has helped hundreds of clients find peace, joy and transformation – often in the very places they’ve felt stuck for years.

Now in her late 60s, Gen proves that it’s never too late to follow your calling and step fully into your power. Her work is grounded in deep listening, inner stillness, and a sacred knowing that healing happens when we’re ready to remember who we truly are.

WHAT KIND OF WORK DO YOU DO?

I’m an energy healing facilitator who works remotely with clients across the globe. I help people uncover and gently release the invisible threads that bind them – old beliefs, trapped emotions, inherited patterns, and energies that no longer serve.

My work draws on a number of powerful healing modalities including The Emotion Code, The Body Code, Psych-K, Quantum Healing, and Healing Remembered – a profound modality that speaks to the ancient soul within us, the one who is ready to let go of suffering and return to peace.

I also work with group healing formats – my Healing Circle Community, Platinum Tapping Membership, Numinous Weeks of Healing, and 5-Day Belief Transmutation spaces – each designed to meet you where you are, and carry you gently forward. Through these containers, people are awakening to new versions of themselves, sometimes slowly, sometimes suddenly – but always with a sense of awe at what becomes possible when we allow the shift.

Whether one-to-one or in group settings, I act as a bridge between what is and what could be. My clients often describe the work as “subtle, yet powerful.” That’s because the healing happens deep in the subconscious, beyond the chatter of the mind. It touches something sacred and remembering within.

Every healing session is accompanied by a detailed written report, offering insights that often ripple long after the session itself. I believe our stories matter – and our healing journeys are sacred ground.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET STARTED AS AN ENTREPRENEUR?

THE INHERITANCE I DIDN’T KNOW I’D TAKEN ON

I didn’t know anything about my biological mother for most of my life. I was adopted as a baby, and I never met her. I didn’t even know how old she was when she had me – until I found out, in my early 60s, that she was just a teenager. Still a child herself.

And although I never consciously knew her, I came to understand – years later, through healing work – that something of her lived on in me. Not just her DNA, but her emotions, her fears, her story. And most of all, her beliefs.

I began to realise that I’d inherited a money story that wasn’t mine. A deep subconscious belief that I couldn’t, shouldn’t, or mustn’t surpass a mother I’d never even met. As if thriving financially would be a betrayal. As if abundance would disconnect me from my roots, or from her. As if suffering was part of the price of love.

Of course, I didn’t see it like that at the time. All I knew was that no matter what I did, I couldn’t seem to make money with ease. I couldn’t hold on to abundance. I was stuck in patterns of lack and limitation. It didn’t make sense – not logically, not practically. But it felt so deeply familiar. Like a rhythm I didn’t remember learning, but somehow kept dancing to.

It was only when I began working with an energy healer that something inside me shifted. That session – the very first one – was like lifting the corner of a veil. I didn’t get answers about my past, but I began to remember who I was before the beliefs. Before the fear. Before the scarcity.

And that’s what called me to this work. Not the desire to run a business, or be an entrepreneur in the traditional sense. But the soul-deep knowing that if I could untangle this inherited web – if I could stop carrying what wasn’t mine – then maybe I could help others do the same.

That’s what I do now. I help people gently, safely, powerfully release what’s not theirs. The beliefs they absorbed. The vows they made without knowing. The stories they’ve inherited from generations before.

Because money isn’t just about numbers. It’s about permission. And for many of us – especially those of us who carry the echoes of young, scared, or silenced women in our lineage – we need to give ourselves permission to thrive. Not as rebellion. But as healing.

I never met my mother. But I like to think that somewhere, beyond this world, she feels it. The breaking of the cycle. The soft, sacred release. The return to wholeness. For both of us.

WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST STRUGGLE TO GET THINGS GOING FOR YOUR ONLINE BUSINESS?

Looking back, my biggest struggle wasn’t the tech (though that was its own beast). It wasn’t time management, or even visibility. It was far deeper and much more hidden.

The real struggle was inside me. It was a tangle of inherited beliefs, family loyalty, subconscious rules I didn’t know I was living by – especially around money and what it meant to be “successful.”

I’d grown up hearing the usual mantras: “You have to work hard to succeed.” “Money doesn’t grow on trees.” And that unspoken but heavy judgement: that wealth – too much money – was somehow distasteful or “flash.” Add to that a deeply logical, results-oriented father, a Chartered Accountant through and through. His version of success was structured, measurable, and entirely different to mine. He passed away when I was in my twenties, long before I ever imagined I’d be doing energy work, but I can see now how I internalised the belief that I could never quite measure up unless I followed a more traditional, respected path.

So when I started my online healing business, it felt like I was entering forbidden territory. How could I possibly charge for something as sacred, as intuitive, as mysterious as energy work? I used to think, “This is a gift – I should just share it freely.” Society certainly seemed to echo that – treating spiritual or healing work as a “nice extra,” not a serious or legitimate offering.

It took a lot of deep, personal work to rewire those beliefs. To see that charging for my work wasn’t a betrayal of my gift – it was an act of honouring it. That receiving money didn’t make the work less sacred – it allowed me to sustain it, and give more generously, not less.

Of course, in the beginning, I watched others online who seemed to be flying. Polished websites. Big launches. Beautiful branding. And I felt small. I wondered if I’d ever get there – or if I even belonged.

There were months of inconsistent income. Times I doubted it would ever stabilise. My nervous system lived in a low hum of anxiety I wasn’t even fully aware of until I began to heal it.

Tech, too, was overwhelming. I didn’t grow up in the digital age, and the learning curve felt steep. I did everything myself for far too long – client sessions, admin, social media, scheduling, tech. Eventually I reached a place where I could outsource and breathe again, but the burnout was very real.

And visibility – oh yes. In the early days I preferred to stay behind the scenes. I’d post quotes, landscapes, anything but my own face. It took time to realise that people connect to people, and that my presence – my actual image – helped others feel safe, seen, and understood.

There wasn’t one single struggle. It was more like a spiral: clearing one layer, only to find another beneath. But every piece I healed brought me closer to ease, to alignment, to sovereignty. And now? Now I know that I am allowed to be successful in my own intuitive way. Not like anyone else. Just like me.

WAS THERE A TIME YOU THOUGHT ABOUT GIVING UP? WHAT KEPT YOU FROM QUITTING?

Honestly? I never truly considered giving up. Not even during the months when cash flow felt tight and the fear crept in quietly at the edges. There were hard days, yes – moments where I felt tired, moments where I questioned how this would all unfold. But never if I would keep going.

This work is not something I do. It’s something I am. It’s deeply woven into how I experience life, how I connect with people, how I understand healing and purpose. Energy work found me when I needed it most, and what it gave me was so profound that I couldn’t turn my back on it – even if I wanted to. And I’ve never wanted to.

What’s kept me anchored are the stories. The transformations. The quiet miracles.

The mother who paid off her house after a surprise windfall.
The woman who reclaimed control over her health and her eating.
The boy who no longer feared being alone in a room.
And my own story, too. How I’ve changed. How I’ve softened. How I’ve become more grounded, more centred, and more joyful than I ever was before.

This path has grown me. It has become the foundation for a life that feels aligned and peaceful. Every time a client messages me in awe or relief or gratitude, I’m reminded why I keep going. Not because it’s always easy – but because it’s true. Because it works. Because it matters.

And because deep down, I know I was born for this.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED SINCE BEGINNING?

One of the most beautiful things I’ve learned is that it’s never too late to begin again. Never too late to follow your heart, to step into something new, or to finally answer the call you’ve always felt deep inside.

I started my business in my 60s, and it’s been one of the most affirming and expansive things I’ve ever done. I’ve learned so much – about business, of course: marketing, funnels, how to craft offers, how to speak to my audience with clarity and truth. But the biggest learning has been about myself.

I’ve discovered how resilient I am. How optimistic, how steady. I’ve unearthed subconscious blocks I didn’t know were there – things that held me back for years – and I’ve gently cleared them. In doing so, I’ve created more freedom, more peace, more joy. I’ve also discovered that I can be successful in business, in my own intuitive and aligned way. That was a revelation.

And I’ve learned to trust. To trust that the right people will find me. To trust that the work is good. And to trust that being true to who I am is always the strongest foundation for anything I build.

WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED?

The best advice I’ve ever received is this:
You don’t have to know the how—just take the next step.

It sounds simple, but for someone like me – who spent years unknowingly entangled in beliefs about needing a plan, needing certainty, needing it all mapped out – it was life-changing.

When I first started my healing business, I had no idea how it would all come together. I didn’t know how to “market” or “launch” or “scale.” I didn’t even know who exactly I was here to serve. But I did know that I felt called to help people heal, and I knew I couldn’t ignore that calling any longer.

So I took one step. Then the next. I let the path unfold beneath my feet, instead of trying to build the whole road before I’d even begun.

And over time, I realised this is how the soul works. It doesn’t give you the full picture – it gives you the next nudge. That nudge might feel quiet, or scary, or wildly inconvenient – but it’s always wise. Always aligned. And always sacred.

So that’s the advice I come back to, again and again:
You don’t have to know the how.
You just have to take the next step.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE JUST STARTING OUT?

Let this be more than a business. Let it be your soul work. Your remembering.

If you’re just starting out, know this: it’s OK to begin without knowing how it all fits together. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Start with what you feel called to share – what lights something up inside you – and trust that clarity will come through action, not just thinking.

Your nervous system might wobble. Your old beliefs might rise. That’s not failure – it’s initiation. This work will change you, and that is part of the gift.

Let it be imperfect. Let it be tender. Let it be real. And above all—let it be yours. You’re not here to follow someone else’s formula. You’re here to lead from within.

WHAT’S THE PROFESSIONAL WIN YOU’RE MOST PROUD OF?

The professional win I’m most proud of is something quite simple, but incredibly meaningful to me:

I now feel completely at peace charging for the work I do.

That wasn’t always the case. In the beginning, I struggled. I carried a lot of inner conflict around the idea of asking for money in exchange for something that felt sacred and intuitive. Like many people in healing professions, I’d absorbed the belief that if it was a gift, I should give it freely.

It took time, reflection, and a great deal of inner clearing to reach a different understanding. Slowly, I began to see that charging for my work wasn’t in conflict with its sacredness – it was an act of honouring it. And of honouring myself.

What I offer is the result of years of learning, lived experience, and deep energetic capacity. Being able to receive for that – not only with comfort but with calm clarity – feels like a quiet, powerful shift. A release of an old story. A soft landing into something truer.

I’ve since raised my prices when it felt aligned to do so. Not out of push, but from a deep place of self-trust. And that, to me, feels like a quiet milestone. Not flashy. Not loud. But deeply affirming.

WHICH BOOK(S) WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TO HELP ENTREPRENEURS WITH SUCCESS AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT?

There are several books that have supported me not just in building my business, but in healing, expanding, and becoming the woman capable of holding it. Each one arrived at the perfect moment, offering wisdom that shaped both my personal growth and professional path.

The Gratitude Effect by Dr John Demartini and The Magic by Rhonda Byrne taught me that gratitude isn’t just a nice idea – it’s a frequency. These books helped me embody gratitude as a way of being, which in turn created space for more peace, more ease, and more good to flow into my life.

The Emotion Code by Dr Bradley Nelson was one of the first energy healing methodologies I discovered – and it marked the true beginning of my self-healing journey. It eventually led me to train and certify in energy healing. That book opened the door to understanding that we don’t have to live with the weight of trapped emotional energy – we can clear it.

You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay expanded my understanding of what was possible. Her story was a living testimony that healing the past is not only possible – it’s powerful. Reading her words deepened my belief that we can shift our inner worlds when we decide we’re ready. It was the first time I truly understood that we aren’t stuck with the old stories – we can choose something new.

The Tapping Solution by Nick Ortner offered me something both practical and profound. It showed me how EFT (Tapping) could be a real-time, effective self-help tool for calming the nervous system, shifting beliefs, and releasing emotional blocks. I still draw from that book in my own healing and when supporting others – its simplicity and clarity are part of its magic.

Get Rich, Lucky B***h by Denise Duffield-Thomas changed the way I viewed money and receiving. It helped me understand that my money story wasn’t fixed – that I could grow my energetic container and expand what I believed I was worthy of allowing in.

And Make Money Online by Lisa Johnson gently dismantled the belief that earning money online had to be difficult or unnatural. She showed me that ethical, aligned business in the digital space is entirely possible – and that we don’t have to choose between soul and structure.

Each of these books gave me something I needed. They didn’t just teach – they helped me remember. And that remembering continues to shape everything I do.

DO YOU HAVE A ROUTINE THAT YOU ATTEST TO YOUR SUCCESS? IF YES, WHAT IS IT?

I do, although I think of it less as a routine and more as a rhythm one that supports both my business and my energy.

Client work is always my priority. Each day is shaped around the sessions I have booked, and I treat that work with the utmost care and presence. It’s sacred to me. But just as important as holding space for others is the time I set aside each day to do my own clearing and healing. I know that the more I release, the more available I am to serve at a higher level. My own growth directly supports the depth of the work I can offer.

I also bring consistency to the visible parts of my business. I diarise time to show up on social media, write blog posts, and create or share group healing offers. That regularity helps my community feel held they come to know they can rely on me, not just energetically, but practically too.

And one small but vital part of my day is my lunchtime walk. I make a point of stepping away from the desk, getting outside, and reconnecting with the land around me. I live near the Yorkshire Dales, and even a short walk in the beauty of my neighbourhood resets something in me. It gives me spaciousness, steadies my nervous system, and lets me come back to my work in the afternoon with more ease and flow.

So yes I have a rhythm. A blend of service, self-care, and soul-led structure. It keeps me grounded, aligned, and able to do what I love in a way that’s sustainable.

HOW HAS SOCIAL MEDIA PLAYED A FACTOR IN YOUR SUCCESS?

Social media has supported my success by giving me a way to gently connect with people. It’s been less about marketing, and more about presence – sharing who I am, what I offer, and how this work might help, in a way that feels natural and aligned.

I show up consistently, not because I have to, but because I want to. I write blog posts, share insights, talk about healing themes, and open invitations to work together when I feel the energy is right. And over time, I think that rhythm has built trust. People come to know me – my voice, my energy, the kind of work I do – and they reach out when it resonates.

It took me a while to get comfortable being visible. In the beginning, I preferred to stay behind the work – sharing posts that felt safe and impersonal. But gradually I realised that people wanted to see me. To feel the energy behind the words. That visibility didn’t have to be performative – it could be real, grounded, and still honour the sacredness of what I do.

So yes – social media has played a role. Not by making me “successful,” but by helping the right people find me, in the right way, at the right time.

WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST SOCIAL MEDIA MISTAKES YOU SEE COMMONLY MADE?

The biggest mistake I see is being inconsistent – posting in a flurry, then disappearing. Building connection takes steady presence. Not every day, but regularly, so people know you’re there.

Another is giving lots of helpful content but never inviting people to work with you. People often need a clear next step. An invitation is an act of service, not selling.

The other is only promoting, without really connecting. Social media isn’t just a shop window – it’s a space to build trust, to share who you are, not just what you offer.

For me, it’s always about connection, not performance.

WHAT IS THE BUSINESS TOOL THAT’S BEEN MOST HELPFUL?

For me, Acuity has been one of the most helpful tools in my business. It allows clients to book their sessions, pay upfront, and choose a time that works for both of us – without the endless back-and-forth emails. It keeps things simple, ensures I’m never double-booked, and has definitely reduced how much invoicing I need to do. That’s brought a lot of ease into my day-to-day.

I also really value Stripe and PayPal. They make it simple for me to work with clients all over the world. Payments are processed smoothly, currencies are converted automatically, and it all comes through to me in GBP. It means I can focus on the healing work, knowing that side of things is taken care of.

Even though I have a lovely marketing team who manage the bigger pieces like my website and branding, I enjoy using Canva for creating my own little bits – especially social media graphics or short slideshow “videos.” It’s a fun, creative outlet for me, and very user-friendly.

Of course, Zoom is essential. It allows me to meet with clients who prefer a face-to-face connection, even across continents. For those who want to feel like they’re in the room with me, Zoom gives them that experience.

More recently, I’ve invested in Kajabi, and my team are currently in the process of moving my website from WordPress over to it. Kajabi also hosts my Open to Abundance: The 7-Step Alignment Manifesting Course, and will eventually house more of my services and offerings. It’s a work in progress, but I’ve heard such good things about how Kajabi can bring everything together in one place – courses, emails, content, and more. That’s why I decided to make the move last year.

Each of these tools has helped me run my business with more flow and less faff – making space for what really matters: being present with my clients.

S THERE SOMETHING YOU WISH EVERYONE KNEW?

Yes. I wish everyone knew that it’s never too late.

It’s never too late to start again, to follow a nudge from your soul, or to create a life that feels more like you. I began this work in my sixties – not because I had a perfect plan, but because something inside me said, now is the time. And I’m so glad I listened.

I also wish people knew how much of what we experience is shaped by the beliefs we’ve taken on – often without realising. Beliefs we absorbed as children. Beliefs passed down through families. Beliefs we didn’t choose, but live by. And I wish everyone knew that these beliefs can be changed. That when we start working with the subconscious, everything begins to soften and shift.

Another thing I’ve come to understand is that money is energy. It’s not just about numbers – it’s about receiving. When we believe we’re worthy of being supported, of having enough, of living with ease, money often starts to meet us in a new way. That’s been true in my own journey, and I see it often in my clients too.

And while healing looks different for everyone, I do believe this: we can always move towards more ease. More lightness. More peace in the body and the mind. Even if we’ve carried something for years, even if we don’t know where to begin – there is always a next step. A realignment. A shift.

These are the truths I carry. And if they offer anyone a moment of hope, or a breath of reassurance, then I’m grateful.

WHAT’S COMING UP FOR YOU IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS?

The next few months are full of beautiful movement.

I’m currently completing a full rebrand and website relaunch with the support of my wonderful marketing team. We’re moving everything over to Kajabi, which will make it easier for people to find, access, and enjoy my offerings all in one place.

Alongside that, I’ve refreshed my three core group healing offers—upgrading them to better support a wider range of beautiful souls, and to create space for new themes arriving in 2025.

I’m also beginning to offer in-person healing retreats – something I’m deeply excited about. The first, Coming Home to Yourself: Deep Healing & Soul Alignment, takes place in the stunning Yorkshire Dales this July. More retreats are planned every two months following, offering people a grounded, sacred space to rest, release, and realign.

Of course, I’ll continue to offer the sessions and communities that hold so many people week by week:

  • My Healing Circle Community, every Thursday, supporting people around the world with one specific issue that’s been bothering them.
  • The Platinum Tapping Membership, offering themed tapping videos and the chance to co-create your own healing path.
  • My Open to Abundance: The 7-Step Alignment programme – deeply practical, powerful work to support manifestation and energy alignment.
  • My alternating monthly group experiences – Numinous Weeks of Healing and Redefine & Rise, each one themed to support a specific layer of healing.
  • And in October, I’ll once again offer my annual animal healing event, supporting pets who struggle with fear of fireworks – a cause that’s close to my heart.

It’s a beautiful blend of deepening, expanding, and refining. I’m excited for what’s unfolding – and honoured to keep holding space for those who feel called to step in.

WHAT HAS BEING SUCCESSFUL TAUGHT YOU?

One of the most important things success has taught me is that it’s safe to receive.

That took some time to land. For a long time, I carried subconscious beliefs that said I had to give constantly, or that it was somehow wrong to ask for or receive money for healing work. But as I’ve done my own inner clearing, I’ve come to see that receiving isn’t selfish – it’s part of the energetic balance. And when we receive with grace, we make space to give from a fuller, steadier place.

Success has also shown me that I don’t have to become someone else to thrive.

I used to think I had to be more polished, more strategic, more “business-like.” But the truth is, the more I’ve allowed myself to just be me – intuitive, grounded, gently visible – the more everything has come into alignment. I’ve found that people respond to honesty, to presence, to energy that feels real. And that’s something I can bring with ease, because it’s who I am.

So much of this journey has been about unlearning – unlearning who I thought I had to be, and allowing myself to trust what already lives in me. That, for me, is the real success.

WHAT ARE SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT YOU?

I was born in Zimbabwe and spent most of my life in sub-Saharan Africa before settling here in the UK. I now live near the Yorkshire Dales and absolutely love being surrounded by the beauty here. I find deep peace in walking the land and visiting ancient buildings – monasteries, castles, churches – whether they’re in ruins or still standing strong.

I started my energy healing business in my 60s, which still makes me smile. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I love reminding people that it’s never too late to begin again.

Every day, I make a point to step outside – usually at lunchtime – for a walk. It’s a small ritual that helps me stay grounded and present in both life and work.

I also enjoy getting creative in Canva! Even though I have a wonderful marketing team, I still like playing with simple designs for social media – it brings a bit of lightness and fun to the work.

And something that brings me real joy? When clients message or email me to tell me what’s shifted for them. Those moments never get old. They remind me, every time, why I do this work.
