You Gotta Promote Yourself

Let’s talk about self promotion.
Because somewhere along the way, it got a really bad reputation.

A lot of people think self promotion looks like being a walking billboard.
Constant sales posts.
Cold DMs.
Endless “buy now” links.
Branding slapped on every surface.
That awkward, spammy, desperate energy that makes everyone want to scroll faster.

Let me be very clear.

That is not self promotion.
That is amateur hour.

Real self promotion is something entirely different. And if you are building a business that lights you up, a business that feels like an extension of who you are, then promoting yourself is not optional. It is part of your purpose.

When you build a business that sets your soul on fire, that business is the physical expression of your vision, your values, and your lived experience. Hiding it does not make you humble. It makes you invisible.

Inspiring by example, not perfection.

True self promotion is leadership.

It is using your posts as a journal of your journey. Letting people see the evolution. The lessons. The breakthroughs. The messy middle. This is how trust is built.

It is celebrating your clients loudly and proudly. Their wins matter. Their results are proof of what is possible.

It is celebrating your own wins too. Not from ego, but from embodiment. When you normalize success, you give others permission to claim it for themselves.

Yes, it also includes announcing your offers. Clear offers. Confident offers. Offers that solve real problems. If people do not know what you do, they cannot buy from you. Period.

Self promotion also shows up in the practical details.
Your about section linking to your website, business page, or group.
Your business title in your intro.
A professional cover photo that reflects what you stand for.

These things are not “too much.”
They are clarity.

At its core, self promotion is about ownership.

Owning your voice.
Owning your message.
Owning the fact that you are here to lead, not hide.

Do not spam. Share.
Do not sell aggressively. Inspire intentionally.
Do not shrink. Embrace the full version of who you are becoming.

You are not being annoying by showing up.
You are being available.

And someone out there needs exactly what you carry.

I want to see you thrive.
I want to see you stop apologizing for your ambition.
I want to see you embrace your strength, your vision, your purpose, and share it with conviction.

The world does not need quieter leaders.
