About Cassie
Cassie MacKenzie, creator of Makeover Your Mindset, is a Money Mindset Queen and Manifestation Expert. Her mission is to help women all over the globe manifest a limitless lifetime of wealth & love, so they can pay off debt, build up their savings and travel the world!
The follow is our interview, my questions in BOLD and her answers to follow.
What kind of work do you do?
I love the work I do! Women come to me with a desire to create a life of their wildest dreams, and many are looking to get over the guilt, anxiety, or feelings of being unworthy of their next level. I can totally relate to that, after 20 years in corporate Pharma sales, and 4 layoffs!
I coach women to identify, make peace with and move past their limiting blocks that they’ve been dragging around for days or decades, so that they can call in even more money, abundance, purpose, and love into their lives.
What inspired you to get started as an entrepreneur?
I’ve always been obsessed with the Law of Attraction, especially around money. I remember driving around listening to The Secret in between sales calls, with “Chapter 5: The Secret to Money” on repeat. So I’ve relentlessly studied it for the past 10 years. It was only recently that I realized I could actually coach other people through what comes so easily for me! Isn’t it funny how that works? The way people think and believe money works for or against them is so fascinating, and I am driven by the breakthroughs and transformations that clients achieve after working together.
What was your biggest struggle to get things going for your online business?
Shiny object syndrome and wanting to DO IT ALL from the beginning. I’m a total Virgo and wanted to do everything all at once. With two kids under 3 and a full-time job, that meant many late hours up creating all my content and figuring out how this whole new world works. :)
Was there a time you thought about giving up? What kept you from quitting?
Absolutely! I believe it is so natural for everyone to feel like giving up from time to time. So many people wonder if it’s a sign from the Universe to give up - that this life is not meant for you.
But I heard someone say early on: “All of your desires are divinely put in your mind for a reason. If you’re truly passionate about doing something, then you and the Universe together will find a way to make it happen.”
I’ve also become an NLP practitioner, and really dork out about the science behind the subconscious brain and how it helps us seek our goals like a flaming arrow from Cupid himself.
Anytime I feel like quitting, I know it is just my ego trying to keep me safe, to keep me from failing. The voice inside of me reminding me of the women who need my help, so that we can impact the world on an even GREATER scale, keeps me going like the Energizer Bunny.
What have you learned since beginning?
Oh good God! WHERE DO I START? I’ve learned that I’m way stronger than my fears, and way stronger than I sometimes give myself credit for.
I’ve learned so much about the back end of the business, making a website, starting a podcast, you know - the unsexy things like that.
What really keeps being a learning adventure for me, is how much I need to do the same work that I have my clients do in their lives.
Mindset work is so much more important than any of the strategy - and I kind of laughed this off at the beginning. I wanted to know HOW to launch, HOW to get followers, HOW to _______, and it is amazing how much better the results become when you ask “HOW am I thinking, what am I attracting, where am I limiting myself?” instead.
What’s the best advice you’ve received?
How you do anything is how you do everything.
What advice would you give someone just starting out?
Messy action is better than perfection. Don’t wait to start something, go ahead and do it now so that you can figure out if you’re on the right path sooner.
What’s the professional win you’re most proud of?
Honestly, just starting this coaching business among all of the fears of being visible, fears of what my mom would think, judgements, fear of failure, etc. It’s a huge win that you begin - and a huge win every day that you continue (assuming you are super passionate about your business and not just doing it to make money)
Is there a book you’d recommend to help with success and personal development?
A Happy Pocket Full of Money is one of my faves.
Do you have a routine that you attest to your success? If yes, what is it?
I go to the beach first thing in the morning with my journal and listen to a guided meditation while I do a scripting exercise. It’s been enormously helpful for keeping my mental clarity and downloads.
How has social media played a factor in your success?
The best part about social media is the connections with amazing women I’ve made in the past year or so. There’s this whole new side of the social media world that I had no idea existed - and it has connected me with so many like-minded women that are hellbent on creating that ripple effect across the world. It makes my heart happy!
What are the biggest social media mistakes you see commonly made?
Looking at the follower #, rather than the interaction you’re making. Keeping connected with your audience and providing value is so important!
What is the business tool that’s been most helpful?
Good question! I’ve really loved the voxer support from my business coach, that has been such a game changer in working with clients.
Is there something you wish everyone knew?
Manifestation is really happening all around you, whether you realize it or not. Everything is a result of the thoughts you think, and your thoughts are either creating a massive flow of money, joyful experiences, and abundance to you or creating hardship, struggle, FOMO, and scarcity.
For example, a family member approached me the other day for advice about a music festival I’d been to out in California, and said it was probably going to cost her $3000 to do the whole thing. I offered for her to do my $3000 in 30 days manifestation challenge.
Her response? She LAUGHED!
So I told her a lady (who prior to taking the challenge had ZERO source of income) just wrote me that day saying she was only on Day 16 and had already manifested $19,000 with more on the way!
My family members response? She said “WEIRD.”
This is not weird, people! This is manifestation, this is creating your reality with the repeating thoughts and beliefs in your mind. Change your thoughts, and change your reality!
What’s coming up for you in the next few months?
EXCITING THINGS!
In November I’m hosting my first ever money manifestation retreat - “The Bosslady that Makes Bank” in Bali! This is for women ready to take their lives to the next level, bust through their money blocks and really formulate a repeatable plan and set of techniques to consistently reach their financial goals, like earning over and above 6 figures/ year.
What has being successful taught you?
The journey is always ongoing, and the learning never ends. Everything gets better and better, and this life is amazing if you choose to see the possibilities that are all around you!
What are some fun facts about you?
I have 2 little kids (age 2 and 3) - we love travelling with them and taking them all over the world.
I totally manifested my husband - he’s from South Africa and we met in San Diego.
I’ve moved myself cross-country twice (once with my 2 dogs and a blow-up doll dressed in a football jersey in the front seat to look like a human!)
I pushed past a huge fear last time we were in Bali, and became Open Water AND Advanced Scuba Diving Certified.
I love Thai food, sushi and living at the beach. It makes me so happy!!
My weakness is champagne and Bravo TV. ;)
