About Amanda
Amanda is the Founder of and Chief Executive Officer of ABcareerMatch. Formerly known as The Write Update, ABcareerMatch is widely known for customarily showing jobseekers how to get what Bryant describes as “new high-paying jobs,” particularly those who haven’t searched in over 10 years and don’t know how to tell their story. Bryant is an Award-Winning Resume Writer who is constantly approached by Recruiters and Hiring Managers to work with them on various Executive Resume Writing projects. She has shown over 20,000 jobseekers over the past 15 years how to get new jobs.
What kind of work do you do?
I’m a Career Coach. I show jobseekers how to get new high-paying jobs!
What inspired you to get started as an entrepreneur?
One day sitting in a dead end job, I looked around and my friends were doing things to help people outside of work, and I realized work was all I had to support my daughter as a single mom. I asked god for a way to support my daughter and I. I looked around and I was already providing career support to family and friends so I decided to turn it into a full-time business in 2017.
What was your biggest struggle to get things going for your online business?
I struggled the most with mindset!
Was there a time you thought about giving up? What kept you from quitting?
Good question. I have the tendency to do the impossible. And in order to do the impossible you have to do the unthinkable. I think about giving up at least once a month - because I may have set a goal to record 20 YouTube videos in one day AND get them edited and published. I set high standards for myself. What keeps me from quitting is the life changing experiences my clients face on a daily basis - reapplying for jobs they were previously rejected for and getting 35% above in salary than their previous job or my daughter getting accepted to her dream college ON HER OWN! Just when we feel like giving up there’s always a breakthrough on the other side.
What have you learned since beginning?
The more we network with people outside of our industry the more amazing people we will meet and the more we can help others!
What’s the best advice you’ve received?
One of the business mentors said:
We don’t have business issues, we have mindset issues!
Another one of my business mentors said:
There are always going to be God moments! Look for them in everything you do!
My mom always says:
You can please some of the people some of the time
There’s many more saying that have resonated with me
What advice would you give someone just starting out?
Always remember why you are starting this business so that when times get tough you will always have something to fall back on and it won’t be a plan B. Another piece of advice I would give is to Automate early! Automate as soon as you get a client. You will find most of the tasks you are completing really need to be eliminated. There’s something about spending time with family and getting the notification that your posts have been shared on social media for the day and engagement is increasing. Know what parts of your business you should automate!

Hosting a workshop for a large University in Cleveland, OH - Case Western Reserve University
Is there a book you’d recommend to help with success and personal development?
A book that I would recommend for success and personal development is Think and Grow Rich - the book, workbook, and audiobook
Do you have a routine that you attest to your success? If yes, what is it?
A killer morning routine/time to myself before I begin my day to help anyone else.
How has social media played a factor in your success?
Social media provides an amazing opportunity for me to reach and connect with some amazing business owners and career professionals - and assist them in some way on their career journey!
What are the biggest social media mistakes you see commonly made?
The biggest social media mistakes I see are sending the link to their offer via messenger before saying hello and not being consistent.
What is the business tool that’s been most helpful?
The business tool that I found most helpful is Active Campaign. It gives me the ability to scale.
Is there something you wish everyone knew?
Establishing a new business is easy. Scaling your business is hard - get help early!

What has being successful taught you?
Its human tendency to do things that are within our comfort zone. We are wired to stay in our comfort zone. When we don’t recognize this, we restrict our growth. We restrict our ability to get to the next level in our career. To get stronger you have to step out of your comfort zone. Do something scary, interesting, unpredictable, and out-of-the-box. What was scary for me was getting on camera and speaking in front of large audiences. What’s scary for me is setting goals that others might not find attainable.
What are some fun facts about you?
I practiced Martial Arts for 10 years. I learned confidence, discipline, to never stop learning, and without risks there are no rewards.
I’m also learning to play the guitar.
